Atlanta, GA – The third quarter of 2025 was one of momentum and meaningful preparation for Heartbeats & Hands 540 (HH540), as the organization focused on expanding community engagement and laying the groundwork for impactful fall initiatives. From rallying volunteers for the upcoming Every Color Matters (ECM) 5K to securing partners for Cole’s Initiative, HH540 continued its mission of connecting hearts and hands through service, education, and empowerment.
🏃♀️ Mobilizing Volunteers for the ECM 5K
Throughout Q3, HH540 launched a successful recruitment campaign to secure volunteers for the Every Color Matters 5K Run/Walk, scheduled for November 8, 2025. Volunteers will serve at cheer and hydration stations, helping to encourage participants and celebrate cancer survivors and families affected by the disease.
Building on HH540’s longstanding partnership with ECM, the organization set a goal of mobilizing 50 volunteers to support the event, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to cancer awareness and community wellness. “Our volunteers are the heartbeat of what we do,” said Nicole Hill, Board Chair of Heartbeats & Hands 540. “Their enthusiasm and compassion help bring energy and hope to every event we touch.”
📘 Expanding Youth Empowerment Through Cole’s Initiative
In addition to volunteer efforts, HH540 made great strides this quarter in advancing Cole’s Initiative, a signature youth empowerment program designed to equip teens and young adults (ages 13–20) with foundational financial literacy and personal development skills. The program centers around the book, ‘I Graduated… Now What?’ by Deborah Benard, a practical and easy-to-follow guide that helps young people navigate adulthood with confidence.
HH540 secured partnerships and community collaborators to support the distribution of 300 copies of the financial literacy guide, which will be gifted to youth-serving organizations, schools, and community groups across the metro Atlanta area. The official list of partners and recipients will be announced in Q4 2025 as part of HH540’s continued efforts to empower the next generation through knowledge, self-awareness, and financial confidence.

As the organization prepares to close out the year, HH540 remains focused on deepening community partnerships and expanding opportunities for service and education.
