Atlanta, GA | Tuesday, October 1, 2024 — In the second and third quarters of 2024, Heartbeats & Hands 540 continued its commitment to uplifting and supporting communities through key partnerships and initiatives, staying aligned with our mission to create positive, lasting change. Our impact in these quarters focused on two of our four cornerstones for 2024: Support the Advocacy of Health & Wellness and Support the Wellbeing & Development of Youths. Here is a summary of the projects we proudly completed during Q2 and Q3.
Q2 Impact:
Partnering for Financial Literacy:Heartbeats & Hands 540 proudly partnered with local author Deborah Benard to sponsor the publishing costs for her financial literacy guide, "I Graduated, Now What?". This comprehensive guide equips high school, college, and young adults with essential knowledge about managing finances, investing, and building long-term financial wealth. While aimed at young adults, this resource provides valuable insights for anyone looking to start on the path to financial independence and security, regardless of age. The guide is set to be published by Q4 of this year or early Q1 of next year, marking a pivotal step in expanding financial literacy education and empowering future generations.
Q3 Impact:
Volunteer Partnership with Every Color Matters:We announced our exciting volunteer sponsor partnership with Every Color Matters (ECM) to provide 22 volunteers for their annual 5K race on October 12. In addition, Heartbeats & Hands 540 hosted an On The Beat Chat with ECM founder Barney Jackson, where we discussed their mission to raise awareness for all types of cancer, the importance of supporting cancer patients and their families, and details about the upcoming 5K. In alignment with our cornerstone of Support the Advocacy of Health & Wellness, HH540 has proudly supported this event with a $500 donation and volunteer efforts to ensure its success.
Supporting Youth Development through School Supply Donations:In collaboration with the Georgia Pearls of Service Foundation, Inc. and the Peachtree Corners Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., HH540 donated school supplies valued at $400 to students attending Pinckneyville Middle School and Norcross High School. Supplies such as calculators, notebooks, pens, pencils, and protractors were provided to ensure that these students are prepared and empowered to succeed academically. This initiative directly supports our mission to Support the Wellbeing & Development of Youths, enabling young learners to thrive.
Looking Ahead: As we prepare for the final quarter of 2024, Heartbeats & Hands 540 remains steadfast in our mission to foster positive change and support the communities we serve. We invite you to join us as we continue our impactful work and encourage you to follow our upcoming projects and initiatives.

About Heartbeats & Hands 540:
Heartbeats & Hands 540 is a philanthropic volunteer organization dedicated to fostering meaningful connections between individuals and impactful volunteer opportunities at charitable and non-profit organizations across the state of Georgia. Established in 2022 by our founder, who, after experiencing a stillbirth in 2021, envisioned Heartbeats & Hands 540 as a vehicle for spreading joy amidst grief.
Our organization draws its name from the symbolism of the heartbeat, representing the unifying organ we all share that gives us life, and hands, symbolizing the spirit of helping hands reaching out to those in need. The number 540 holds a special significance, representing 540Hz—the frequency of joy. Heartbeats & Hands 540 is committed to making a positive impact on individuals and communities, guided by the belief that joy and support go hand in hand.
Through our volunteer initiatives and partnerships with charitable organizations, we aim to create a network of compassion and service, bringing comfort to those facing challenges and spreading joy where it is needed most. Join us in our mission to build a community of caring hearts and helping hands, uplifting one another, and making a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
